Status letters and documentation to confirm your status as a student at Swinburne.
Throughout your time at Swinburne, you may need official documents to share with employers, government agencies or other organisations. Student letters are designed to confirm details such as your enrolment status, study load, or work rights.
Student documents
An Enrolment Statement provides official confirmation that you're enrolled in a course or program at Swinburne. It also outlines your study load for the current teaching period.
What's included:
- course and program name(s)
- start and end dates
- Census dates for enrolled subjects
- study load for the relevant teaching period
- confirmation that your course is delivered in English.
This statement can be used as evidence of your enrolment and study load for various purposes, such Centrelink support payments.
How to access your Enrolment Statement
You can access your enrolment statement at any time during your studies, simply:
- log in to My Swinburne with your SIMS username (Student ID) and password.
- select your admitted course under My Study.
- go to Self-Service Reports and request an Enrolment Advice Report.
- you'll receive confirmation that your statement has been emailed to you.
If you're a past student please email askgeorge@swinburne.edu.au to receive your statement.
The Holiday Letter shows the official break periods in your course and can help international students confirm their work rights with employers.
Please note: you'll need to submit this letter with your Enrolment Statement.
In most cases, your Enrolment Statement or Academic Transcript provides the information you need. However, if a government body (like the Department of Home Affairs) requests specific details, you can apply for a Status Letter.
Processing time:
Five business days (allow up to 10 days during peak times).

Status Letters
Enrolment History Status Letters are available to students who completed their course before 2014 and need confirmation of past enrolment.
An Enrolment History Status Letter includes:
- full name
- student ID
- date of birth
- course campus
- course title and code
- course start date
- confirmation that the course was delivered in English.
Expected Completion Date Status Letter is for current students who need confirmation of when they're expected to complete their course. This date is based on a standard full-time study load.
An Expected Completion Date Status Letter includes:
- full name
- student ID
- date of birth
- course campus
- course title and code
- course start date
- expected completion date
- confirmation that the course is delivered in English.
The Practical Legal Training (PLT) letter is designed for law students applying for legal practice in Australia.
A PLT Status Letter includes:
- full name
- student ID
- date of birth
- course campus
- course title and code
- course start date
- confirmation that the course is delivered in English
- current units (with full title and code)
- confirmation of final semester enrolment and expected completion
- result publication date for current units.
A Living Expenses Status Letter verifies estimated living costs in Australia, usually for international visa applications.
A Living Expenses Status Letter includes:
- full name
- student ID
- date of birth
- course campus
- course title and code
- course start date
- confirmation that the course is delivered in English
- expected course completion date
- estimated annual living expenses.
Law students applying to the Victorian Legal Admissions Board can request this report in addition to their academic transcript.

Confirmation of completion
Confirms that you've officially completed your course – ideal for job applications, further study or visa processes while you wait for your graduation documents.
Digital academic transcripts are available to all students, testamurs and AHEGS are only available for students graduating from 2014 onwards.
Certified digital graduation documents are issued by Swinburne via My eQuals.
