If you don’t wish to attend a ceremony, there are two ways for you to get your paper testamur:
Mail - to receive your physical Testamur by mail.
Postage fees apply, please pay here. If you are having trouble with the link, please call StudentHQ on 1300 794 628 (option 1) to process payment over the phone. Please ensure your postal address is up to date in your student portal. Your documents will be sent out in the next available monthly mailout, after the postage fee is paid.
Collect - to collect your physical Testamur from StudentHQ on our Hawthorn campus.

Postpone your attendance
If you would still like to attend the ceremony but the assigned ceremony doesn’t work for you, you can postpone your attendance. To defer and attend a later ceremony please select ‘postpone’ in your student portal (you will receive an email invite to the next graduation, approx. 4 weeks prior to the ceremony).
Please note that you can postpone your attendance at a graduation ceremony attendance for a maximum of 12 months following your award conferral.
No, the ceremony allocation ensures that awards for the same school are presented in the same timeslot so you will graduate with your cohort.
Yes, you can have your preferred name read as you cross the stage. To update that, please contact us at graduation@swinburne.edu.au
Otherwise, your full legal name as per your student record will be read.
Graduation fees are:
- Timely graduation charge: $245
- Late graduation charge: $295
Your fee covers:
- your academic regalia hire
- a trencher (cap) to keep if you're graduating with a bachelor degree or higher
- two (2) guest tickets
- a graduation ceremony program
- post-ceremony refreshments.
To confirm your spot in the ceremony, you need to book and pay via the GFP booking portal. You will receive the link in the invite email.
In the booking portal you can also purchase extra guest tickets and photography packages. If you have any questions regarding payment or photography, please contact our event provider, GFP Graduations.

Graduates who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander are eligible for a graduation ceremony fee waiver.
Current Swinburne staff should contact People and Culture to check their eligibility for staff benefits. Once confirmed, you must book your graduation ticket as outlined on this page.
A ceremony invitation does not guarantee that there is a place for you at that ceremony, as capacity is limited at each graduation. Your spot is only guaranteed once your award is conferred, and you have booked and paid for your graduation ceremony.
Your ticket comes with two guest tickets. You can purchase up to five more guest tickets at $47 per ticket through the booking portal. If you wish to purchase more than this, please contact us at graduation@swinburne.edu.au and we can arrange additional tickets for you to purchase.
This does not mean you have failed to meet the requirements of your course.
We often send graduation ceremony invitations to students who are on track to graduate before their awards have been conferred. Awards must be conferred at least five weeks prior to the ceremony. If your award is conferred less than five weeks prior to the ceremony, you become ineligible and will need to attend the next ceremony instead.
If you're ineligible to graduate, Swinburne will advise the event partner and organise for them to refund the cost of your ticket and any guest tickets you may have already purchased. Once you are deemed eligible to graduate, you'll be allocated a new graduation ceremony date and you can commence the process again.
If you are informed that you're ineligible to graduate due to fees owing or an outstanding payment due to the university, and you have paid these, please email graduation@swinburne.edu.au to re-start the graduation process.
